Kayla Triplett pets her horse, Silhouette, during Ag Day at Warren County High School on Tuesday. The freshman said she had dreamed about being part of the annual event when she was a little girl passing by on a school bus.
Warren County High School went country Tuesday as it celebrated its annual Agricultural Day, sponsored by the Future Farmers of America to give many a glimpse of the farm they might not otherwise get to see.“It helps us educate students at the school about what our FFA students do,” said FFA advisor Shannon Ford, noting many of her FFA members are farmers. “Some students haven’t even seen farm animals up close before so it exposes them to something they might otherwise not ever get to see.”Fellow FFA advisor Rebekah Tinsley said Warren County High School has many students who have been raised on a farm and Ag Day helps them share their knowledge with other students. Some bring tractors and farm equipment, while others bring animals like horses, goats and chickens.
