Store owner faces attempted rape
Rameshkukmar L. Patel was named in sealed indictments returned by the Warren County grand jury.

The owner of Country Club Market has been arrested on attempted rape charges for allegedly trying to molest two of his female teen employees.
The suspect, Rameshkukmar L. Patel, 37, was named in sealed indictments returned by the Warren County grand jury charging him with three counts of attempted rape, two counts of assault and two counts of sexual battery. The attempted rape charges could cost him three to six years in prison if convicted. He is free on $25,000 bond.
His charges come after he allegedly tried to force himself on two teen employees.
“It was unwanted touching, trying to force them into performing sexual acts on him,” said sheriff’s investigator Jason Rowland, noting the alleged incidents happened inside the store, located on Manchester Highway. “The incidents happened in offices and storage rooms.”
The sexual harassment continued until the girls quit. However, when one of them went back to sign resignation papers, Patel allegedly tried to molest her again.
“That was the straw that broke the camel’s back,” Rowland said, adding the two victims knew about one another and decided to come forward.
In the meantime, a family member and boyfriend of one of the victims went to the market and assaulted Patel. They have been charged with assault.
