NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A would-be burglar has been shot and killed by a homeowner in South Nashville.

Media outlets report that the incident happened Tuesday evening at Hickory Pointe Apartments in Nashville.

Metro Nashville Police say a resident fired his weapon when he saw a man breaking into his apartment. The suspect ran out of the apartment and into the breezeway, where he collapsed and died.

The shooting remains under investigation. Additional details are not yet known.
