NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A Tennessee police officer has been arrested on domestic assault charges.

The Tennessean reports Metro Police arrested 33-year-old ex-Bell Buckle Police Officer Ian Ray on Sunday. Davidson County jail and court records say Ray was arrested on charges of domestic assault, vandalism and interference with a 911 call. Mayor Jenny Hunt says Ray is no longer employed with the town, but didn't say if he was terminated.

The arrest affidavit says Ray and his girlfriend got into an argument. It says she told Ray she would call 911 and he damaged her phone. Sunday was Ray's second arrest in less than a month on domestic violence charges. The May 22 arrest affidavit says Ray was seen grabbing his girlfriend by the hair and pulling her into a car.
