Tennessee man charged with attempted murder of police

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Authorities say a military veteran has been charged with 11 counts of attempted murder in Tennessee after he threw explosives at officers and stabbed one of them. Memphis Police Director Michael Rallings said officers were called to a home Tuesday by someone who said her son had a weapon and was speaking erratically. Police said Wednesday that 33-year-old Christopher Roby threw explosives at officers before grabbing a knife.
