Suspect in double shooting found dead after standoff

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — Police in Tennessee say a homicide suspect involved in a standoff with police has died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

News outlets cite a statement from Chattanooga Police Department spokesman Trevor Tomas that says 58-year-old Paul Kulikowski was found dead Sunday with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound after a short standoff with the agency's SWAT Team. The statement says officers responded to the location after Kulikowski called dispatchers and confessed to shooting two people earlier in the day.

Police say they were called to that shooting around 3 a.m. A woman, 34-year-old Audrey Albritton, was pronounced dead at the scene and a man was transported to a local hospital. His condition has not been released.
