MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Authorities say two men are dead and a Memphis police officer suffered a minor injury following an hours-long standoff.

Multiple media outlets report it happened Tuesday evening in the Hickory Hill neighborhood.

Police were summoned to a residence there when a woman called and said her son had killed his brother. Police say the suspect called 911 minutes later and admitted that he did kill his brother.

After officers arrived, authorities say the suspect shot at them, striking the boot of 32-year-old Officer Jason Winburn. The bullet didn't penetrate his skin.

The suspect then barricaded himself inside the home.

Memphis police spokeswoman Sgt. Karen Rudolph says the suspect and his brother were both found dead after police entered the home about three hours later.
