MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — The Memphis Police Department's Internal Affairs bureau is investigating after a video was posted online that appears to show officers arresting a man who was recording them with his cellphone.
Memphis police Interim Director Michael Rallings said in a statement on his department's Facebook page Tuesday that authorities have identified the officer involved in the April 21 incident, which followed a home invasion robbery.
The video was posted on Facebook on Monday morning and quickly spread. News outlets report that the video, which has since been removed, shows officers arresting a man on a disorderly conduct charge after he recorded an incident that happened in the northern Memphis neighborhood of Frayser.
Citing a police report, The Commercial Appeal (http://bit.ly/1rUHdc0 ) reports that police say 26-year-old Otis Porter Jr. hindered the crime scene.
