If you go to your Standard box on Friday and don't find a newspaper, it's by design. For the second year in a row, the newspaper will not publish editions after Christmas and after New Year's Day."This is something we tried last year to see how it would work," said Standard publisher Patricia Zechman. "We didn't have very many complaints and it gave our employees time to spend with their families so we thought it was worth it."Canceling the two editions last year was done on a trial basis and it seemed to work well. It's especially timely this year with Christmas falling on Thursday, the newspaper's regular production day."Should there be any breaking news, our readers will be able to find it on our website or our Facebook page," said Zechman.
