Competitors are scheduled to run, jump and throw their way into action later this month for a first-year event called the McMinnville Special Games.The Olympic-style event is for special-needs adults and will be held Saturday, April 20 beginning at 10 a.m. at Nunley Stadium. There are currently 38 adults over age 18 scheduled to participate.“The goal is to provide something for special-needs adults because once they turn 22, they have to leave the school system and there’s nothing else for them here,” said Holly McBride, one of the organizers. “There’s bowling on Thursdays, but that’s it.
