McMinnville Special Games is preparing for its Kids Day this Saturday at Nunley Stadium.
Olympic-style events are planned to begin at 10 a.m. for children ages 5-17. Events will include 50-yard dash, softball toss, and long jump. There are 27 children registered to participate.
“We have 60 sponsors, and they are all local sponsors, who have contributed to make this happen,” said organizer Holly McBride.
The events will take place from 10 a.m. to approximately noon, McBride says. After that, there will be face painting, balloons, food and general play time.
“We will let them stay as long as they want but I imagine we’ll probably wind things up around 1:30 p.m.,” said McBride. “We encourage anyone interested to come out and watch these children compete.”
The Kids Day comes following an Adults Day in April that featured 40 participants.
