McMinnville officials have received another request for free use of the McMinnville Civic Center complex, this being for a fundraiser to benefit the WCHS softball team.In a letter from WCHS softball coach David Upton, he requests the use of the athletic fields located at the Civic Center for a fundraiser “The purpose of this fundraiser is to help reduce the debt on our indoor practice facility, and to reduce the player fees for our 2014 softball team,” said Upton.The fundraiser is being organized by Upton and the Warren County Softball Booster Club and will be a weekend softball tournament to be held in early August 2013. Invitations will be extended to softball teams located in Middle Tennessee. Teams will be charged an entry fee for participation, and the booster club will be responsible for operating the concession stands during the three-day event.
