Local pastor David Snowden traveled to the Tennessee State Capitol on Thursday to give the invocation and pledge for the House of Representatives. His invitation came at the request of state Rep. Judd Matheny (47th District) and as a token of appreciation from his Calvary Worship Center congregation in celebrating his 25 years in ministry. Snowden, 39, gave himself to the call of ministry at the age of 14, preaching his first sermon on Jan. 27, 1988. From that night, he would be invited to speak at over 180 different churches that year.
