A man who ran a police officer off the road and nearly caused a serious accident has been bound to the grand jury.The suspect, Kenneth P. Smith, was bound to the grand jury on charges of reckless endangerment, evading arrest and driving on a revoked license.The Doyle man is charged with nearly running into policeman Joseph Vanbommel near River Park Hospital. Smith was reportedly on the wrong side of the road and the officer had to swerve to miss the oncoming truck. Smith reportedly fled the officer, but was later arrested.In other General Sessions cases heard by Judge Bill Locke in General Sessions Trial Court:Barbara Denise Monday was instructed to serve five days of an 11-month, 29-day sentence, pay $50 plus costs and lose his driver license for one year for driving on a revoked license.Courtney Deshay Blevins was bound to the grand jury on charges of evading arrest and driving without a license.Joan Ellen Hendrix was ordered to serve 48 hours of an 11-29 sentence, pay $350 plus costs, perform 24 hours public service work, attend DUI class and lose her driver license for one year for DUI.Chelsea Brooke King was directed to serve 48 hours of an 11-29 sentence, pay $350 plus costs, perform 24 hours public service work, attend DUI class and lose her driver license for one year for DUI and casual exchange of drugs.Kory L. Smith must pay $10 plus costs for leaving the scene of an accident.Shelby Elkins was bound to the grand jury on charges of driving on a suspended license.Maria Rose Rodriguez Guiterrez was directed to serve 48 hours and pay $10 plus costs for driving without a license.Daniel Shane Dodson, Stephanie Pomes, Stephanie M. Pomes, Shatate Lanese Henderson and Brittany Ann Clark must pay $10 plus costs for driving without a license.
