If you plan it, they will come, even in the rain.
Umbrellas and raincoats were out in force Saturday on Main Street as showers throughout much of the day couldn't stop the annual Autumn Street Fair.
Customers braved the weather to squeeze in a little downtown shopping. The rain certainly had an impact on turnout, with smaller crowds than in recent years, but many local residents showed resiliency and came to shop anyway.
It All Makes Scents owner Kristin Beedle had a booth set up in front of her Main Street store. With concrete firmly anchoring her tent and keeping it in place against gusty winds, her main concern was doing some shopping herself.
"I hope my daughter shows up soon to watch the booth," Beedle said. "I want to see what's here. Last year I did a bunch of shopping."
The weather didn't stop the baby show from taking place. Despite steady rain during the show, it took place in front of the Chamber.
Viola Valley Dogs had its traditional spot at the end of Main Street and was looking to find quality homes for some adorable puppies. The organization has brought as many as 20 dogs to the Autumn Street Fair in the past, but only had four on hand this year.
