The front parking lot at McMinnville Civic Center made its annual transformation Friday into a massive food distribution network.Warren County High School students with the Interact Club and Southern Standard employees joined together to see Share A Christmas Dinner through to completion. This year, Share served 625 families and required monetary donations approaching $20,000 to buy all the food. Each box was packed with groceries, including a chicken, eggs, milk, bread, vegetables, and cake mix. It’s enough food for a holiday feast. The parking lot was buzzing with activity as high school students operated with precision as they pushed the boxes down an assembly line, filling them along the way.Young men then had the burden of lifting and carrying the heavy food boxes to nearby vehicles.“This is such an uplifting day,” said Standard publisher Patricia Zechman.
