School snow days used up

Students in Warren County could be going to school longer this year as the system surpassed its allotted number of bad weather days after the latest winter storm Thursday.According to Director of Schools Bobby Cox, dismissal of school Friday due to lingering bad driving conditions brought on by Thursday morning’s ice and snow event left the system in the hole as far as bad weather days go.“That has put us over,” Cox said, noting the 10 days set aside at the beginning of the year have been exhausted and exceeded by one. Snow and ice events which began in earnest on President’s Day last month led to the mass cancellation of school due to safety concerns. A second wave of bad weather this week finished off the stockpiled days and left school officials with decisions to make.
