School Board battle could be brewing

A contested School Board race between two experienced members could be brewing in the 6th District, provided both potential candidates submit their petitions in time.The potential race involves incumbent board member Scott Holmes and former board member David Sneed, who served on the board prior to taking a job with the school system.Candidates have until noon this Thursday to qualify for the various races. Election for School Board will be held Aug. 2.Joining the 6th District in a potential race to be contested is the 4th District where veteran board member Bob Young is retiring from his seat. Qualified to run for the spot are Dr. Charles Collier and Tanya Bess.
