You win some, you lose some. Residents in the area of Spring Valley Road and the new four-lane to Woodbury were able to initially block one of two annexation requests made by property owners in their area. The city’s Regional Planning Commission met Tuesday to consider two annexation requests: One from James B. Passons, who wants to annex 13.2 acres of property into the city as Commercial 2 and one from Donald Hillis, who wants to annex 22.36 acres of property into the city as Residential 2.While the Passons property will be sent to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen without a recommendation from commission members, the Hillis property will be recommended to the board with commission approval. In attendance at the meeting were members Anthony Pelham, Jim Brock, David Marttala, Amie Hodges, Jerry Williamson and Steve Harvey.Up first for consideration was the property owned by Passons, who says his property is an empty tract other than vines growing on it.“It’s a vacant tract of land,” said Passons.
