A woman who answered a deputy’s knock with a bag of marijuana in her hand faces drug possession charges. She also faces burglary charges since the door she answered was not her own.The woman, Candy Nicole Redmon, 34, was bound to the grand jury on charges of possession of marijuana and aggravated burglary. Her charges come after deputies were called to a Smithville Highway home to investigate a prowler call. When deputy Jorge Rivera arrived, he was greeted at the door by Redmon.“She opened the door and had a large plastic bag containing a green leafy substance thought to be marijuana in her left hand,” Rivera recalled in his warrant against Redmon, noting the marijuana weighed 6.3 ounces.A further investigation revealed the residence actually belonged to her ex-husband and that she had allegedly broken in.“He said she had been knocking on the windows and eventually had gained entrance through a side window,” Rivera said.During subsequent questioning, Redmon did not give authorities any reason for breaking in the residence nor toting the bag of marijuana. Lawmen also found a couple Lorazpam pills on her person.
