Officials received their first glimpse of a video that will air on “Today in America” with Terry Bradshaw. It features the benefits of life in the city of McMinnville.“Situated in the heart of Tennessee, between interstates 24 and 40 in the foothills of the Cumberland Plateau, the charming city of McMinnville is one of the best places to live, work and play,” said Bradshaw in the video.Patrick Halliday, associate producer of “Today in America,” contacted the city in June 2012 about being included in a rediscovering America series related to topics, trends and issues related to the best places to live, work and play with a five-minute segment at a cost of $19,800.Along with interviews and scenes of interest, the video characterized McMinnville as a “welcoming city full of friendly folks,” as well as “a place with a true hometown spirit,” and a place where “people know their neighbors.”Filming took place in October, with the senior producer going over timing and visual aspects of the segment prior to officials viewing the segment recently. Mayor Jimmy Haley, on the board as an alderman at the time and supportive of the agreement with “Today in America” to film the segment, likes the video.“I hope this is our winning touchdown,” Haley said.
