Three people face drug charges following the raid on a residence at Green Acres Apartments in which police allegedly found a methamphetamine trafficking operation.
Two suspects, Latricia Reene Brady, 26, and Steffen Matthew Brady, 24, were residents at the apartment, while Tammy Renee Crusinberry, 29, of Rock Island was a guest when police showed up to help a probation officer who arrived to conduct a search.
Mr. Brady is charged with attempting to sell drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ms. Brady is charged with possession of drugs for resale and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ms. Crusinberry is charged with attempting to sell drugs, possession of drugs, tampering with evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia. They will face hearing before Judge Bill Locke on Oct. 21.
According to McMinnville police officer Bobby Anderson, they were eventually granted permission to enter the apartment. It didn’t take the lawmen long to find a gram of meth inside Mr. Brady’s bedroom along with six digital scales, a marijuana pipe, and a 9 mm handgun clip containing 10 rounds. A search of Ms. Brady’s purse yielded even more meth as 5.3 grams were found.
Police also discovered a surveillance system they believe was used to monitor outside the apartment.
Police say they also found drugs on Crusinberry. Anderson said it was noticed she had two varieties of pills in one pill bottle found on her person.
“She asked if she was going to be charged with them and the officer said ‘most likely’ and then she started shoving them into her mouth,” Anderson recalled.
Along with trying to swallow the pills, police say Crusinberry had $394 concealed in her bra which she tried to hand to another person in the apartment.
