Post-Christmas rush boosts sales
After Christmas
After-Christmas shoppers, Katrina Lusk, 7, Heather Schaefer, and Blair Adams braved the crowds on Friday, saying they were looking for good sales and saving money. They were also looking for some belated Christmas gifts.
The day after Christmas is traditionally one of the busiest times of the year for retail businesses, with sales and returns attracting brave shoppers. Long lines and energetic crowds are one of the hallmarks of the end of the holiday season. This year, however, has been slower than expected. While parking lots remain full, and shoppers can be seen wandering the aisles, some businesses have seen a reduction in returns.According to local Walmart assistant manager Gary Young, this year is a little slower than usual.
