A single, white female is being sought in the daring daytime heist of Rite Aid on Sunday in which she took an employee hostage to force the pharmacist to fill her lengthy list of prescription drugs.Police say the woman walked into the store just after 1 p.m. Sunday dressed in a heavy parka, sweat pants, and was wearing a toboggan, despite temperatures in the mid-90s. She went unnoticed as she walked around the store before coming up behind an employee who was pricing merchandise in one of the aisles.“She stuck an object in her back which the clerk believed to be the barrel of a gun,” said McMinnville Police Detective Sgt. Nicole Mosley, noting a gun was never actually seen by anyone. “She then forced the female clerk over to the pharmacy.”With the robber holding the clerk hostage, the pharmacist was given a handwritten list of drugs, mostly painkillers, and directed to fill the order without delay.“She said something to the effect that if she heard sirens she would kill everyone in the store,” Mosley recalled, adding the pharmacist complied with the demands. The woman then fled and was last seen running on foot toward Spring Street on Locust Street.
