A larger estimate than expected may put an end to an idea to build a new McMinnville Police Department on Main Street. This was the third suggestion for relocating the department to the downtown area.In May, Vice Mayor Everett Brock suggested the McMinnville Board of Mayor and Aldermen consider building on lots 207 and 209 E. Main Street. The former building was destroyed by fire on March 29, 2008.For additional parking, he suggested purchasing the old Walling Arcade building on Spring Street and demolishing it.
