The dream for all students, regardless of physical ability, to play together in an all-inclusive playground is closer to fruition.Members of the county’s Financial Management Committee have voted to approve a bid requested by Petey’s Project organizers to build an inclusive playground at Hickory Creek Elementary.Carlene Brown, Petey’s Project volunteer, informed members of the Financial Management Committee that organizers are ready to transfer money to the school system and request a purchase order for the playground equipment once the county approves the request.Brown said some of the private funding includes a grant which has a time limit. “One of our funding sources from Rotary had a limitation on it,” said Brown. “They don’t want to give you money and you sit around and not get the project done.
