A man already facing two criminal charges has picked up a third after he led officers on a chase while driving his box truck.
The suspect, Tracey Glenn Parton, 45, faces charges of evading arrest, domestic assault, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct and second-offense driving on a revoked license. He is also out of bond opportunities given his three separate arrests, meaning he will likely wait out his March 26 hearing behind bars at Warren County Jail.
His most recent trouble comes after sheriff’s investigator Travis Thaxton tried to pull him over for driving on a revoked license. Thaxton saw Parton behind the wheel of a 2000 Freightliner box truck on Jones Lane and turned on his blue lights and siren.
“Mr. Parton continued to evade arrest into Cannon County and was forced to stop about 16 minutes later,” Thaxton said.
Thaxton’s suspicions were confirmed once he got the suspect stopped. Parton’s license was revoked from a DUI in Georgia in January. Lawmen also found a small amount of marijuana and some rolling papers in the vehicle.
The marijuana bust goes along with his arrest late last year when deputies found 2.90 ounces of marijuana in a gallon zip lock bag sitting in plain sight when they pulled him over for reckless driving.
Those two charges, along with charges coming from his threatening and assaulting his uncle inside a store in full view of other customers and a surveillance camera, are set to be heard by Judge Bill Locke on March 26.
