Convicted murderer Gerald Wayne “J.B.” Bounds is now counting down the days until he is a free man as years of failed attempts finally paid off with the parole board granting his release last week.Bounds, 66, is still incarcerated at Bledsoe County Correctional Complex awaiting a release plan for parole supervision.Bounds has been in prison since 1981 for the fatal shooting of Sherman Wright outside Odyssey Game Room in Smithville. The shooting occurred over a $2,800 gambling debt Wright reportedly owed Bounds. Witnesses said Bounds asked Wright to step outside the game room and moments later heard a shot.
