A man leapt from the shadows early Sunday morning to rob a Papa John’s Pizza employee as he locked up for the night.“He was hiding in the storage buildings near Papa John’s,” said McMinnville police investigator Nichole Mosley. The detective said the victim had just locked up shortly after midnight and was going out to meet his girlfriend who was picking him up.“The man pushed the girl and pushed the victim, putting something to his throat,” Mosley said, noting police are not sure if the object was a knife or something else metallic. “He told the victim to give him what he had.”The victim complied with the robber’s demands, handing over the store’s deposit bag which contained an unspecified amount of cash and receipts.“He took the deposit bag and ran toward the woods behind the store in the direction of McDonalds,” said Mosley, noting neither the Papa John’s employee nor his girlfriend were injured.Police are looking for a black male, standing about 5-foot-10 and weighing about 220 pounds. The man was not wearing a mask and the victim noticed even in the limited light he had acne scars on his face.Anyone having information about the robbery should contact police detectives at 473-3386.
