One person was killed and two were injured in a head on crash on Short Mountain Road Tuesday morning. The wreck occurred shortly after 10 a.m. on a straight stretch of Short Mountain Road near the Cannon County line. The two survivors were airlifted from the scene of the accident and the deceased was pronounced dead on the scene. Investigators were still at the scene of the crash at the time of this report. They say alcohol was likely involved. Names of the victims have yet to be released pending the notification of next of kin.
