For one local club, Christmas kicks off in September in a delicious way this Saturday as McMinnville Noon Exchange holds its pancake breakfast at Applebee’s with proceeds to benefit the club’s annual Christmas party for local underprivileged children.
“The money we raise this Saturday will go to make Christmas a little merrier for some local children who might not otherwise have anything under the tree,” said fundraising chair Sabrina Keeton.
The event begins at 7:30 a.m. and goes until 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Members of Applebee’s kitchen staff prepare the breakfast and Noon Exchange members will serve the meal. The breakfast includes all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage and beverages for $5 a person.
Keeton noted the sausage is provided by Goolsby’s and the Meat Market at Newtown and the pancakes, drinks and staff to cook the breakfast are provided by Applebee’s. Those donations make it possible for all proceeds Saturday to go to filling the Christmas wish lists of children the club will serve this year. In addition to providing presents, the club also holds a party for the children which includes a meal, activities and visit from Santa.
“Not only are you getting some of the best breakfast McMinnville has to offer but you’re doing it for a great cause,” said Keeton, “You have to eat breakfast anyway. It’s the most important meal of the day. Why not come to Applebee’s this Saturday morning and let us do all the work?”
The Exchange Club is dedicated to serving the community through projects that nurture youth, promote patriotism and prevent child abuse and neglect. To learn more about Noon Exchange Club, visit its Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/NoonExchange McMinnville, or call 931-607-6599.
