New officials won't take oath Tues.

Recently elected members of the McMinnville Board of Mayor and Aldermen will not be sworn in this Tuesday at 7 p.m. because the results of the election won’t be finalized until the next day. A swearing-in ceremony Wednesday is under consideration.According to Warren County election administrator Donna Smith, the results of the election will not be certified until this Wednesday, Nov. 19.“We would like to be as accommodating as we can be but my commissioners won’t be meeting until Nov. 19,” said Smith.Consideration is being given to holding a reception at City Hall on Wednesday to swear in the recently elected board members. They are Ryle Chastain, Everett Brock and Steve Harvey.“We’ve gone around and around trying to figure out the best way to go about this,” said Mayor Jimmy Haley.
