The Standard’s new regional entertainment section called Southern Guide makes its second appearance in the newspaper today.
The special section is published every other Wednesday.
Today’s Southern Guide is sure to get you in the patriotic spirit as it has a rundown on upcoming Fourth of July festivities. Those begin locally on Saturday, June 29 when Fairview CIC holds its traditional celebration on the Saturday before the Fourth.
There is also an article about the renowned Smithville Jamboree, which is preparing to enter its 42nd year. Over 150 crafters and around-the-clock music are set to begin Friday, July 5. The festival is known for its impromptu jam sessions that are liable to break out under any shade tree.
There are community calendars with events listed from around the Midstate. There’s a reminder about the upcoming large-scale yard sale set for July 20 at Warren County Fairgrounds. The massive yard sale will include a car show, door prizes and live entertainment. Admission is free.
Other regional events include concerts at Ryman Auditorium and Bridgestone Arena.
It’s a section you don’t want to miss.
