Prominent local pharmacist and community activist Nestor Stewart was honored Tuesday morning with the Headmaster Award at Boyd Christian School.Boyd headmaster Weldon Parkinson praised Stewart for the work he’s done around Warren County as a whole, and in particular his dedication to Boyd Christian.“He’s a lifelong friend to the community and he’s long been a friend to Boyd Christian,” said Parkinson. “There are a lot of people we could have recognized, but when we started talking about candidates, his name quickly came to the front.”In accepting the award, Stewart encouraged the students at Boyd to work hard to achieve their potential.“You have an unusual opportunity to make a difference,” said Stewart, who has operated Stewart Plaza Pharmacy for 45 years. “This is especially true for morality issues and studying the Christian principles Christ gave to the world.”Parkinson is in his first year as Boyd headmaster.
