Nashville airport handled 10.6 million passengers

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority officials say the facility handled more than 10.6 million passengers in the 2014 fiscal year marking a record for the airport.

The total number of passengers who utilized the Nashville airport during the fiscal year ending June 30 was 10,627,239, a 6 percent increase over fiscal year 2013.

Airport Authority President Rob Wigington says the number of travelers is a sign of a strong economy in the area.

Nashville International Airport is currently served by 10 airlines and offers 380 daily arriving and departing flights. Nashville International provides nonstop air service to 49 markets.
