Murder suspects's SUV torched

A man accused of stabbing his girlfriend to death had his vehicle torched over the weekend as he sat in DeKalb County Jail awaiting his day in court.A Chevy Tahoe belonging to murder suspect Anthony Crews, 42, was found fully engulfed in flames Saturday morning when DeKalb County volunteer firemen arrived at the home on Cookeville Highway just north of Smithville. The residence was the scene of the murder of Crews’ girlfriend, Ashley Bain, 28, last Thursday.Crews is accused of stabbing Bain to death inside their Cookeville Highway home sometime Thursday morning or early afternoon. He called authorities and claimed he walked into their house and found her already dead.
