Mother takes children shoplifting

A mother who went shoplifting with her children was granted a judicial diversion.The woman, Melissa F. Yates, 40, was granted an 11-month, 29-day judicial diversion by Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley. The diversion means she can have her criminal record erased if she successfully completes her year on probation. She will also be required to perform 30 hours public service work and pay $75 plus costs.Her trouble with the law came when she was caught stealing $82 worth of items from Walmart.
