With the start of the Warren County A&L Fair just over two weeks away, authorities want local residents to be mindful of a midway scam that reportedly took place at Van Buren County’s fair last week.The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department is also asking for assistance in finding a man who allegedly ran the scam. David Manning, whose last known address is in Nashville, stands 6 feet tall and weighs approximately 290 pounds. No other description is available.Manning is believed to have operated the illegal operation that ran from a booth at the Van Buren County Fair, according to Van Buren County Sheriff Grayson Beasley.Manning remains at large, while four other individuals have been arrested and charged with aggravated gambling promotion — Louis Lisi, 50, from LaVergne; Don Holloway, 26, from Kentucky; Jeffrey Muench, 42, from Milwaukee; and Tiffany Lafromboise, 21, from North Dakota.Lafromboise has an additional charge of criminal impersonation for allegedly giving officers a fake name, address and Social Security number at the time she was interviewed.Beasley says the five were involved in an alleged illegal gambling scam at a booth at the fair and arrests were made after an investigation, which is still ongoing.
