Mathis questions doctors testimony

The defense for a former daycare owner convicted of killing a 6-year-old child wants to know if the pathologist whose testimony helped put her in prison for life was high on drugs when he conducted the autopsy on the young victim.The convicted murderer, Sherri Mathis, 45, will appear before Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley on Wednesday and ask that a formal deposition be ordered for former State Pathologist Dr. Bruce Levy to determine if drug abuse could have affected his judgment and testimony in the murder case of Cheyenne Delp.Dr. Levy was arrested for drug possession two years ago.Delp died under mysterious circumstances at the Mathis home in the summer of 2004. Mathis had custody of Delp and her two brothers at the time. Paramedics said the 6-year-old girl was unresponsive when they arrived.
