A man who was caught growing marijuana inside his home has been bound to the grand jury.The suspect, Derrick Walker, was bound to the grand jury on the charge of manufacture of marijuana after waiving his right to preliminary hearing.His charges come after police raided his home and found several small marijuana plants along with growing equipment and rolling papers. Walker maintained he was growing the marijuana for experimental purposes.In other cases heard by Judge Locke on the Tuesday trial docket:• Tyla K. Grissom was bound to the grand jury on charges of promoting the manufacture of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, and shoplifting.• Brian Rhoady was bound to the grand jury on the charge of initiating the process to manufacture meth.• Brad Bauer was issued an 11-29 probationary sentence and must pay $250 plus costs for possession of marijuana and failure to carry his driver license.• Chad Russell was bound to the grand jury on the charge of forgery.• Lonnie Atnip was issued a six-month judicial diversion and must stay out of Walmart for shoplifting.• Jeff Smartt was issued a six-month probationary sentence and must make restitution for vandalism.• Rebecca Wilder must serve the balance of her sentence for violation of probation.
