An Oak Street man was wounded Sunday morning when he accidentally shot himself in the leg after hearing a prowler.The man, Carl E. Templeton, 61, was airlifted to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga for treatment of the injury he sustained inside his Oak Street home just before 11 a.m. Sunday. According to preliminary police reports, Templeton sustained the gunshot wound on the left leg just above the knee.“Mr. Templeton stated he was in his bedroom and someone was trying break in through his window,” said McMinnville police officer Brad Hall. “He said he had his 38-caliber revolver in his hand and he bent over to look out the window.
