Man gets month for hitting his wife with 20-pound dumbbell

A man who hit his wife with a dumbbell will serve a month behind bars.The husband, Johnathan W. Kestner, 25, entered guilty pleas before Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley to the charge of reckless aggravated assault and was directed to serve 30 days of a three-year sentence. He must also attend the battery intervention program and have no contact with the victim.His month in jail comes after Kestner and his wife began fussing about people with whom she had been texting. At some point during the argument, Mr. Kestner said his wife came toward him and he pushed her down.
