Man caught in brier patch gets two months

A man who fought with deputies and then escaped while handcuffed will serve two months in jail.The escapee, Israel Rodriguez Martinez, 23, entered guilty pleas before General Sessions Judge Bill Locke to charges of escape, resisting arrest, assault on an officer, and violation of probation. He was ordered to serve 60 days of an 11-month, 29-day sentence and pay $536.His fight and flight from officers happened when a deputy arrived to arrest him on outstanding warrants charging violation of probation. The suspect had run away from officers a few days earlier resulting in his probation being violated.When Martinez saw the deputy outside the Grizzle Lane residence where he was staying, the suspect made a dash for freedom, pushing past the officer.
