A man who jumped behind the wheel of a car after a wreck to help a friend will serve 50 days in jail.The man, Van Nicholas Loggins, 30, was ordered to serve 50 days of an 11-month, 29-day sentence and pay $50 plus costs for second-offense driving on a revoked license. The charge of criminal responsibility for the conduct of another was dismissed.His jail time comes after police responded to a call of a hit and run at Asbury Apartments and pulled over a vehicle fitting the description of the pickup that had left the scene. Officer Corey Floyd reported finding Loggins behind the wheel of the vehicle when he was stopped.
