Local nurserymen Boyd and Hobbs on SNA board

The SNA (Southern Nursery Association), a non-profit, professional trade association representing the horticultural industry in the southern U.S., announced today its new board of directors elected at the 114th Annual SNA Business Meeting held on January 19, during the Gulf States Horticultural Exposition in Mobile, Ala.2012 SNA Officers include:President William J. "Bill" Boyd, Flower City Nurseries; Vice President/Treasurer/Director Chapter 4 (Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas) Jeffrey Howell, Rocky Creek Nursery, Lucedale, Miss.;Executive Vice President Karen Summers, Summers & Associates, Acworth, Ga.2012 SNA Board of Directors include:Director Chapter 1 (Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia) Eelco Tinga, Jr., Tinga Nursery, Inc., Castle Hayne, N. Car.;Director Chapter 2 (Florida, Georgia, South Carolina) Richard May, May Nursery, Havana, Fla.;Director Chapter 3 (Arkansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee) Michael Hobbs, Warren County Nursery; andImmediate Past President, Randy Bracy, Bracy's Nursery, LLC, Amite, La."I look forward to working with this new board and carrying out their directives as we move forward in redefining and rebuilding the SNA," said Karen Summers, Executive Vice President. "Their knowledge, expertise and vision will be an invaluable contribution to the association and will significantly accelerate our restructuring and growth initiatives."Newly elected president, Bill Boyd, is serving his second term on the SNA board. He served his first term from 2002 - 2007, serving as president in 2006.
