A Spring Valley Road man faces felony assault charges after he shot a man outside a home on Pine Bluff Road.The alleged shooter, Michael Anthony Wright Jr., 27, is charged with aggravated assault, domestic assault, possession of a firearm by a felon, and interference with a 911 call.The reason for the shooting, investigators say, is still unclear. The victim, Joshua Taylor, has told authorities he doesn’t know why Wright shot him.“He said Mr. Wright was leaving and just turned and shot him,” said sheriff’s investigator Steven Carpenter.The incident happened outside a home on Pine Bluff Road near Rock Island. The gun, investigators say, was a 22-caliber, bolt-action rifle.“The bullet traveled through his leg and went through the door of the residence,” Carpenter said.Taylor was taken to Saint Thomas River Park Hospital and treated for the leg wound.In addition to the shooting, Wright faces charges for even having the gun in his possession.
