This was the 11th year for Caring Hearts United’s Wonderland of Trees fundraiser, which brought merriment and holiday cheer to Three Star Mall as well as record-breaking donations.
In addition to Christmas trees and wreaths, the nearly week-long event at the mall offered decadent treats, baked goods and coffees. It also featured hours of entertainment from local artists, a Bingo night, and a Wonderland Store.
Organizer Dianne Sneed said of the event, “We want to thank Three Star Mall, everyone who helped promote the event, to the behind-the-scene angels who provided light for our Wonderland Store, to all who shared their talents and kept us entertained, to Kelly Slaughter for providing the sound system. We also want to thank the candidates, participants, and John Chisam for making our Bingo night a huge success. Our biggest thank you goes to everyone who donated items, volunteered time, placed a special bid, and blessed us with their attendance. Without you, we would not have bene able to raise roughly $14,000 and this event would not have been so successful.”
Sneed added, “Congratulations to Ben Lomand Connect. Their tree had the highest bid and will be featured on our collectible ornament for Wonderland of Trees 2022. Please mark your calendars for the 2022 event which will be held Nov. 14-19. Come stroll through the Wonderland of Trees again.”
The Ben Lomand tree, which sold for $950, was part of a record-breaking year that saw Wonderland of Trees raise more money than it ever has before.
