A woman who was caught hiding out and smoking marijuana with a fugitive has been released on time-served.The woman, Jessica Layne Spurlock, 35, entered a guilty plea to the reduced charge of perjury and was given an 11-month, 29-day sentence which, after time already served, will be spent on probation.Police say it was Spurlock herself that called them to her Yankee Street residence but when they arrived she claimed she had called 911 accidentally.“She stated she did call 911 by mistake and that no one else was inside the residence,” reported McMinnville police officer Matthew Stubblefield, noting he was allowed inside by the woman. “I walked upstairs and located Jeffery Green hiding in an upstairs bathroom.”The officer said Green was wanted on numerous outstanding warrants out of Warren and Bedford County. However, despite the fugitive being found hiding in her home, Spurlock continued to dig herself deeper.“She at first continued to advise she had no knowledge of him being upstairs,” the officer said, noting that after more discussions, Spurlock came clean.
