Woman charged with starving dog

A woman has been charged with felony cruelty to animals for nearly starving a bulldog to death.The woman, Masel Lou Bishop, was not even the owner of the dog as it belonged to her son, and she was keeping it for him. However, since she had control of the animal, she was hit with the aggravated cruelty to animals charge. The count is a Class E Felony which is punishable by one to two years in prison.Kim Pettrey, Warren County Animal Control and Adoption Center director, was called to the residence on Russell Lane and told if someone did not check out the dog, it was going to die.
