A woman has been placed on probation for a year for opening fire when she saw a neighbor trimming bushes near their property line. The woman, Connie June Newby, 61, was granted a one-year judicial diversion on the charge of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon. The diversion means she can have her criminal record erased once her probation is over.According to the victim, Eddie Hennessee, he was outside his Bybee Branch Street residence trimming his bushes when a round of shot whizzed over his head.“She yelled that the next time I would need an ambulance,” Hennessee told police when they arrived to investigate.Police learned the neighbors had arguments in the past and there may have been questions concerning the property line. Hennessee claimed the bushes he was trimming were in his yard, while Newby claimed they were her bushes.
